LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Frontier Community Credit Union’s president, Bill Hauber, has promoted Michael J. Augustine, vice president of lending, to executive vice president.
Augustine is excited to tackle the new responsibilities of his position. “Our vision is to be our members’ primary financial institution,” he said. “I’ve been working with the staff on some pretty innovative ideas that I believe will help us accomplish this vision.”
Augustine came to the credit union in 2011 from United Consumers Credit Union in Independence, Mo., where he served as vice president of financial services. A Kansas State University alum, he has been part of the financial services industry for 20 years, starting as a retail market manager for a bank in Overland Park.
Frontier Community Credit Union President Bill Hauber believes Augustine’s extensive lending experience will help the credit union thrive in the current economy. “Mike has made strong contributions during his time at our credit union,” said Hauber. “We are excited that Mike’s new position will allow him to sharpen his focus on achieving our vision.”
An outspoken supporter of the credit union movement, Augustine graduated with high honors from the Credit Union National Association’s Management School in 2008 and received his Certified Credit Union Executive designation in 2010.
Augustine lives in Olathe with his wife Kimberly, daughter Ashley and son Dylan.
Frontier Community Credit Union has more than $113 million in assets and serves more than 11,000 members.
