Winter Snow Storm Affects Kansas Credit Unions

The winter storm has affected more than 20 credit unions throughout the state of Kansas. The following have closed at least one office or branch:

Closed Tuesday, February 4, 2014
  • Bell Credit Union (closed at 11:30 am)
  • Bell Government Credit Union
  • Central Star Credit Union
  • CommunityAmerica Credit Union
  • Credit Union of Emporia
  • Educational Credit Union (closed at 10 am)
  • Emporia State Federal Credit Union (closed at noon)
  • Envista Credit Union (closed at 1 pm)
  • EquiShare Credit Union (closed at noon)
  • Frontier Community Credit Union (closed at 11 am)
  • Hutchinson Credit Union
  • Hutchinson Government Employees Credit Union
  • Kansas State University Federal Credit Union
  • Mainstreet Credit Union
  • McPherson CO-OP Credit Union (closed at 1 pm)
  • Meritrust Credit Union-Junction City, Lawrence branch
  • Medical Community Credit Union (will close 4 pm)
  • New Century Credit Union
  • Quest Credit Union
  • Reliance Credit Union
  • River Cities Community Credit Union (closed at 3 pm)
  • TECU Credit Union (closed at 1 pm)
  • USPLK Employees Federal Credit Union (closed at 11 am)
  • VA Credit Union (closed at 3 pm)
  • Wesley Medical Credit Union

This situation is similar to last February when more than 20 Kansas credit unions closed when the state was hit with up to 18 inches of snow.

The V A Credit Union will be closing at 3:00, and will decide in the morning if weather will still be an issue.
