Jim Peebler was honored with the John Michener Volunteer of the Year award at the Kansas Credit Union Association’s 2013 Annual Meeting and Convention in Topeka, KS last Saturday.

The award recognizes credit union volunteers for their contribution and devotion as a volunteer, both to credit unions and the greater community.

Peebler serves on the Board of Directors and as Supervisory Committee Chair for TECU Credit Union. A volunteer at TECU since 1995, Peebler has been active in governmental affairs activities, chapter meetings and state-wide events, and instrumental in recruiting new volunteers for credit union service.

Peebler has used his business knowledge to garner support of fellow board members to focus on making critical decisions for the betterment of the credit union. TECU has significantly improved its return on assets (ROA) and received the highest rating from the regulator for two consecutive years under Peebler’s leadership.

Peebler has shown unselfish devotion as a credit union volunteer through his attendance at KCUA annual meetings, annual Day the Capitol events and chapter meetings.
