Inspire. Create. Innovate. Credit union staff and volunteers celebrated creativity and new ways of thinking at the Kansas Credit Union Association’s Annual Meeting & Convention. KCUA celebrated 79 years of service, as well as honored five leaders for their contributions to the credit union movement.

Special guests at the annual meeting and convention included Bill Cheney, president & CEO of the Credit Union National Association who spoke at the business meeting, and Congressman Mike Pompeo who was our Governmental Affairs luncheon speaker.

Innovation contest winner
Angie Reed, Kansas State University Federal Credit Union was the winner of our innovation contest. Attendees voted on best way credit unions have created, inspired or innovated in their communities.

Kansas State University Federal Credit Union (Manhattan, KS) partnered with the Flint Hills Community Clinic,  a free, volunteer-run medical clinic for Riley County residents that are low income and do not qualify for health insurance from any other entity. There are approximately. 10,000 Riley County residents that qualify to use the clinic.

Through recognition at K-State basketball games, free t-shirts with K-State logos and the Flint Hills Community clinic logos, printing donations, and monetary support (from both KSU FCU staff and members) they were able to increase awareness of the clinic. In addition, they donated more than $8,500 to the clinic.

Donations
We raised $465 for our three charities: Wounded Warrior, Children's Miracle Network and Special Olympics.
