Regional Compliance Updates Cover Social Media, Elder Abuse and Risk-Based Capital, and More

KCUA Compliance staff were in Lawrence, Wichita and Salina covering social media, elder abuse, unclaimed property, risk-based capital, liquidity and contingency funding, cybersecurity, and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Hot topics included social media, risk based capital and elder abuse. Regarding elder abuse, discussion revolved around:

  • Recognizing scams or scammers.
  • Telling a member you think it’s scam or they are being taken advantage of.
  • How long to fight release of the money and/or placing a hold on funds.
  • Working with the authorities on reporting.
