In case you missed it, here are just a few highlights from this year’s annual meeting.
The 2015 annual meeting will be a joint meeting with the Nebraska Credit Union League, June 4-6 at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, MO. There may be a few changes to the annual meeting, but it will be a great event and a way to collaborate and network with credit union folks outside of Kansas.
It was announced at the business meeting that the Wichita KCUA office will be moving in September. We are in the process of evaluating a building for purchase. Watch for more information in May.
Don Homan of Frontier Community Credit Union, Leavenworth, KS, was elected chairman to both the Kansas Credit Union Association and Shared Financial Solution board of directors.
John Beverlin, President/CEO of Mainstreet Credit Union was elected vice chair of the KCUA Board of Directors.
Vickie Hurt, Quest Credit Union was elected Secretary/Treasurer of KCUA Board of Directors.
Garth Strand, was recognized for his 25 years of service on the board, and was re-elected to the board for his second term.
James Nastars, President/CEO, Meritrust Credit Union, was elected to the KCUA Board to represent credit unions with assets of $75 million and greater.
Jim Holt, President/CEO of Mid American Credit Union was recognized for his two years of service on the KCUA and SFS boards. He was also the recipient of the Professional of the Year award.
Ron Kelley (1938-2013) was awarded posthumously the Volunteer of the Year award.
John Michener (1894-1986) and Henry Peterson (1893-1984) were honored posthumously with the Hall of Fame award.
Political Involvement Award was awarded to Greg Winkler, President/CEO of Educational Credit Union in Topeka.
