With each Kansas credit union member, and every Kansas credit union, our voice is strengthened and together we can make a difference.

Third in the series of about the value of Association membership.

Strengthen your credit union for tomorrow’s opportunities and challenges. Training and educating your staff keeps them in tune to technology changes, financial regulations and a step ahead of the competition.

We are always looking for new ways to add value to you. This year, a partnership with the Missouri Credit Union League and the Nebraska Credit Union League has proved more networking and training opportunities for your credit union.

Our training department provides hundreds of learning opportunities. In fact more than 1,000 credit union staff has taken advantage of webinars, conferences, and in-house training.

We want you to stay ahead of the game. In 2013, the training department has:
  • Provided 125 distance learning opportunities to more than 520 registrants in the areas of lending, marketing, operations, volunteers, compliance and management.
  • Hosted 11 in-person training seminars to more than 215 participants covering topics in compliance, IRAs, bankruptcy and collections, lending, marketing and credit union history, philosophy and structure.
  • Delivered 11 customized in-house training sessions, conducted training needs assessments and developed learning plans for credit union staff.
  • Made two-day training available to 287 convention attendees on more than 16 topics  - all for less than what you might pay for a single-topic training session anywhere else.
  • Added a Technology Council and increased our Marketing, Lending and CUnext Young Professionals Council memberships to 115 members.
  • Offered nearly $5,500 in scholarship assistance to credit unions through the Youth Education and Scholarship (YES) Committee for KCUA and CUNA sponsored education events and the KCUA Annual Meeting & Convention.

Our diverse training options enable your credit union to be innovative and resilient, vital traits essential for your credit union to grow and prosper. The League-credit union partnership is an integral element in the survival of credit unions. It ensures our financial health, supports our community efforts, and gives consumers a choice in choosing a financial institution.
