With each Kansas credit union member, and every Kansas credit union, our voice is strengthened and together we can make a difference.

Second in a series about the value of Association membership.

Compliance continues to be the number one burden for credit unions of all sizes. In 2012 and 2013, credit unions were slapped with 34 changes to federal law and regulations.

Your partnership with the Kansas Credit Union Association is essential in keeping you informed, relevant and on top of new and shifting regulation.

KCUA houses two full time staff, working side by side, with you. Our legal and credit union experts help ease the stress of keeping abreast of the latest federal laws and regulations. From financial regulators, to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, we see no relief in sight from their well-meant efforts.

The Association’s compliance services are designed for all credit unions, from the one-person shop to the largest multi-branch organization. Use these resources to your advantage, as many are supported by your annual dues and require no extra fee.

  • one-on-one compliance calls and email support
  • compliance updates, FYIs and alerts posted on our website
  • monthly compliance Q&As included in KCUA’s e-newsletter Vision
  • on-site training programs and Regional Compliance Update meetings
  • credit union roundtable meetings
  • access to comprehensive compliance calendar

In 2013, KCUA expanded online compliance resources giving all affiliated credit unions access to two new products:

  • InfoSight, a searchable online compliance resource
  • CU PolicyPro, a robust policy resource package

The League-credit union partnership is an integral element in the survival of credit unions. It ensures our financial health, supports our community efforts, and gives consumers a choice in choosing a financial institution.
