Earlier this week, Governor Sam Brownback announced the appointment of Jerel Wright as the new Administrator of the Kansas Department of Credit Unions.  Per Kansas statute, the appointment must be confirmed by the Kansas Senate and is for a term of four years.

He is tentatively scheduled to start his new position on September 1, 2014.
Jerel has served the credit union industry for more than 25 years. While his expertise and service will be missed here at KCUA, we look forward to working with Jerel in his new capacity as Administrator, a position he has held before from 1998-2005. Jerel's service at KCUA has included positions in governmental affairs, compliance and consulting.

Moving forward, we will be carefully evaluating the needs of our member credit unions and our organization so that we have the right services and the right people delivering those services for the right value proposition.

We know that compliance services are of utmost importance to our credit unions and will continue to provide the top-quality services that you expect.  Gail Bright has completed her Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification this year and is on hand to answer your compliance questions.
