Meritrust was recently honored with the Wichita Area Association of REALTORS (WAAR) 2013 Business Partner of the Year award presented at the organization’s annual awards banquet.

"Receiving this award was a big honor,” says John Beckman, Director of Real Estate at Meritrust. "We’re proud of our partnership with Wichita Area Association of REALTORS, and we are grateful for its efforts on behalf of the area's real estate industry.”

Meritrust’s partnership efforts with the association include monetary support and donations, as well as Meritrust Real Estate department staff involvement in WAAR community initiatives.

Meritrust is an ongoing sponsor of the association’s Continuing Education courses for real estate professionals in the area, and also volunteered at its Habitat for Humanity home build.

In fall 2013, Meritrust partnered with other organizations and the Wichita Area Association of REALTORS to fill backpacks for the local McKinney-Vento Homeless Program currently serving over 2,100 students in local schools.

Vans were filled with backpacks, toothbrushes, shampoo/conditioner and other hygiene items to provide the basic tools to help these students succeed in school.

"The association is a wonderful community partner,” Beckman says. "Aligning our team efforts with this organization’s initiatives and providing our support is a natural fit for us.”

The Wichita Area Association of REALTORS keeps its members informed of market trends and changing federal, state and local regulations affecting the real estate industry.
