With the looming discussions on Capitol Hill around comprehensive tax reform, KCUA has scheduled our annual Hike the Hill to Washington DC for Tuesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 2. There has never been a better time to be in DC meeting with policymakers. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
We invite all interested member credit unions to attend this event. Hiking the hill is a powerful grassroots tool that provides credit unions with the opportunity to visit Washington to educate decision makers on credit union issues.
Attendees will travel to Washington DC to communicate to the Kansas delegation the credit union difference and the importance of keeping the credit union tax exemption to the 96 million American credit union members. In addition, we’ll talk with them about a variety of other regulatory and legislative proposals that we are following.
Credit unions will fly in the morning of Tuesday, October 1 and depart the afternoon of Wednesday, October 2. During the Hike, we will attend a briefing from CUNA governmental and regulatory affairs staff, meet with members of the Kansas Congressional delegation, and meet with federal regulators. Each person will be responsible for their own expenses (roundtrip airfare, one night hotel, and meals).
