Augusta, KS – In May 2013, White Eagle Credit Union donated $30,000 to area non-profit organizations. This is the fourth year White Eagle Credit Union has made sizeable donations to local organizations, totaling $120,000 during that time.
This year, White Eagle Credit Union donated $2,500 to the Augusta Caring Center, Project Jai Play, Meals on Wheels and the Augusta Senior Center.
In addition, White Eagle Credit Union gave $10,000 to organizations in both El Dorado and Newton.
The not-for-service financial cooperative just recently distributed $5,000 in scholarships for WECU college-bound members as well.
"We believe in investing in our future. That is why we have established scholarships through White Eagle Credit Union and that is why we believe it is important to keep giving to organizations whose work we appreciate and whose work benefits us all,” stated WECU President Rick Blue.
White Eagle Credit Union is a financial cooperative that has been a part of the Butler County community since 1935.
WECU serves members through a not-for-profit, democratic structure and membership is available to anyone who lives or works in Butler, Harvey and surrounding counties.
