PURPOSE To create and build awareness for Kansas credit unions and build on the credit union philosophy of "people helping people."
The tag line for the event, as well as our advertising campaign is "The power of one can make a difference. Kansas credit unions."
DETAILS Date: The event will take place either Tuesday, May 14 or Thursday, May 16. Those credit unions who have expressed interest in participating (by filling out a commitment form: online or pdf) will choose the date that best works for them. Commitment forms are due March 27, 2013.
Time: Determined by the credit union.
What it is: Participating Kansas credit unions will pay for consumer’s purchases at a local coffee house. If your community does not have a coffee house, please contact Susan Dyer for other ideas. Amount to be given away per location (supplied by KCUA) contingent on the number of participating credit unions.
AUDIENCE Anyone who happens to stop by the designated establishment at the designated time!
PROMOTION This event is meant to be a surprise so minimal promotion and media contact should be made prior to the event. Utilizing social networks is encouraged before and the day of the event. Pre-event teaser posts and at-event materials will be provided to credit unions.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE This event is open to credit unions who have contributed to KCUA's MP3 statewide advertising program by March 29, 2013. If you have questions regarding your MP3 contribution, please contact Amy Tillison at (800) 362-2076, ext. 3045.
FUTURE EVENTS A similar event will be planned for October 2013 during International Credit Union Week. Events will take place twice a year for several years. Consistent messaging will be developed to continue the "make a difference" theme.
