Overview:
Financial regulators continue to emphasize two points:  1) verification of financial ratios, values, etc. and 2) the depth of documented support material.  Current and accurate information (based on regulatory guidance statements) is critical not only for underwriting, but also on-going monitoring of creditworthiness.

There are three primary credit functions that financial regulators expect financial institutions to perform. 

1.  Spreading and analyzing financial information on the borrower and related entities

2.  Performing an in-depth underwriting analysis

3.  Monitoring of the borrowing entity’s financial performance

Although these duties may be assigned to the credit analyst, underwriter, or to the loan officer, this presentation will assume all are assigned to the credit analyst or underwriter.  This webinar will focus on consumer lending and regulators’ emphasis points during safety and soundness examinations.  It will also address regulatory guidance for home equity lending and 1-4 family residential investment properties.
