KCUA Annual Awards

Each year the Kansas Credit Union Association honors two individuals for their dedication and effort given to the credit union movement in Kansas. KCUA is now accepting nominations for these awards.

This Association member benefit is a result of a partnership between KCUA and Callahan & Associates. In addition to the quarterly Credit Union Strategy & Performance report which focuses on CUs nationwide, Kansas credit unions will receive the performance summary reports throughout 2012.

  National Credit Union Youth Week is April 22-28. Be a Credit Union Super Saver!

• February 1: Governor Brownback Proclaims 2012 "Year of Cooperatives"
  

  Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has proclaimed 2012 as the “Year of Cooperatives” in Kansas.  The proclamation was requested by the Kansas Cooperative Council as part of their International Year of the Cooperatives (IYC) 2012 activities.  Marla Marsh, KCUA President/CEO and KCC Board member, attended the ceremonial proclamation signing on KCC’s Legislative Action Day.  

• February 1: KCUA Councils to Gather at KCUA Annual Meeting and Convention
  

  The newly established Marketing, Lending and CUnext Young Professionals Councils will meet for networking and education as part of the KCUA Annual Meeting and Convention in April. The Councils will meet separately on Friday, April 20 from 1-4 p.m.

  Once again Kansas credit unions outperformed the national averages.

• January 3: EFSCU Members Donate Over $1500 to Salvation Army
  

  Emporia State Federal Credit Union members gathered toys for, as well as donated money to the Salvation Army during the 2011 holiday season.

  Networking and sharing are great ways to learn from your peers. As a KCUA Council member,  you can stay connected with your peers through webinars, list serve (group email list), file share feature, face to face seminars and meet ups.

  Young credit union professionals met in Wichita last week for the first statewide CUnext Meet-up. Twenty attendees from 11 credit unions discussed challenges facing our industry and the role they can play as a young professional to help.

• November 1: KCUA’s Council Kick- off Conference a Success
  

  Nationally recognized speakers Pierre Cardenas and Josh Allison hit a home run at last week’s KCUA Marketing and Lending Council Kick-Off Conference, attended by 25 lenders and marketers from 15 Kansas credit unions.
