 CUlead Program Sponsors

CUlead is a program aimed at building and enhancing our credit union management staffs' leadership abilities to further the credit union and cooperative movements.

It's an extensive leadership program with interactive discussions, insightful projects and focused practices.  Offered as a joint program by the Kansas Credit Union Association and Missouri Credit Union Association.

Who should apply?

  • Mid-level management in Kansas or Missouri who are ready to develop executive leadership skills.
  • Two or more years management or supervisory experience recommended.

About the Program


One year commitment
(five, two-day sessions, plus your state’s legislative event)

Sessions and field trips held in the Kansas City area
Class size:
20-22 leaders, per year

Participant Program Expectations

  • Complete all pre-session assignments.
  • Complete group and individual assignments and projects in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in all sessions. This includes being a group leader,making presentations to the group and more
  • Identify and select a mentor who will assist the participant in the program.
  • Communicate roles and responsibilities to mentor

Educational Investment

  • $1,750 *scholarships available for Kansas credit unions.

  • October 2: Applications open
  • November 9: Application deadline
  • November 16: Notification of selection
  • Early December: 2016 CUlead class announced

Effective leadership.
Financial management and regulator insights.

Session 3 | June 21-22
Effective communications.
Media and community relations.

Session 4 | August 23-24
Risk management.
Strategic planning.
Field trip: Federal Reserve Bank.

Session 5 | October 25-26
Field trip: local credit unions.
Final project presentations and graduation.
