MP3 Statewide Awareness Campaign
Share |

The Media Power Pack Program (MP3) is the credit union cooperative advertising program. Together we can achieve more - an excellent statewide media purchase, promoting the credit union difference to Kansas consumers, members and potential members.

The power of one can make a difference. Kansas credit unions.

Based on member credit union feedback, we launched the "power of one" campaign in the second half of 2012. The print ads feature actual credit unions members, one of the ideas suggested by our credit unions.

Watch for print ads in the Topeka Capitol-Journal, Wichita Eagle and Kansas City Star (zoned for Kansas subscribers), as well as 0:30 television spots on WIBW-TV in Topeka and KAKE-TV in Wichita and surrounding area, and western Kansas.

We are also underwriting the Governor's State of the State Address on KPTS (PBS) on January 15.

Weeks of February 2 - March 9

  • Online: Placements include Kansas City Star (geo-targeted to Kansas subscribers) and the Wichita Eagle. These are the two largest newspapers in the state.

  • Print: Kansas Press Association. This is most cost-effective way to reach all corners of the state.

  • Radio: will air in Kansas City (KBEQ, country, Q104), Wichita KZCH 96.3 FM, top 40), and Western Kansas (Z-98, top 40 and Q97, country).

  • Pandora: includes a three week placement targeting 18-35 year olds through out the state of Kansas.

Make a difference events are designed to illustrate the people helping people philosophy, and put that philosophy into action. To date, we have given away $86,000 worth of free gas, gift cards, cash or food and directly impacted more than 5,000 consumers. These events are typically held in the spring and fall. Read more about these statewide, collaborative events.

Our paid advertising consists of print, radio and online ads. The ads typically run during the first quarter of each year, plus a two week run during October.

Money Smart, Value Strong (Spring 2010- Spring 2012)

KCUA developed a strategic awareness campaign to remind Kansans across the state of the value of credit unions. This year's theme is Kansas credit unions. Money smart. Value strong.

The campaign ran January - March (key months in our state's legislative session), and in October to coincide with International Credit Union Day. Ads were placed in 140 community newspapers, with an emphasis in the Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City markets. Radio spots aired on 37 radio stations throughout Kansas.
