Inspire. Create. Innovate. Credit union staff and volunteers celebrated creativity and new ways of thinking at the Kansas Credit Union Association’s Annual Meeting & Convention. KCUA celebrated 79 years of service, as well as honored five leaders for their contributions to the credit union movement.
Special guests at the annual meeting and convention included Bill Cheney, president & CEO of the Credit Union National Association who spoke at the business meeting, and Congressman Mike Pompeo who was our Governmental Affairs luncheon speaker.
Innovation contest winner Angie Reed, Kansas State University
Federal Credit Union was the winner of our innovation contest. Attendees
voted on best way credit unions have created, inspired or innovated in
Kansas State University Federal Credit
Union (Manhattan, KS) partnered with the Flint Hills Community Clinic, a
free, volunteer-run medical clinic for Riley County residents that are
low income and do not qualify for health insurance from any other
entity. There are approximately. 10,000 Riley County residents that
qualify to use the clinic.
Through recognition at K-State
basketball games, free t-shirts with K-State logos and the Flint Hills
Community clinic logos, printing donations, and monetary support (from
both KSU FCU staff and members) they were able to increase awareness of
the clinic. In addition, they donated more than $8,500 to the clinic.
Donations We raised $465 for our three charities: Wounded Warrior, Children's Miracle Network and Special Olympics.
